How to install Android Lollipop on Nexus 5

Hey guys. If you hold a device like Nexus 5 and not going for new os Android Lollipop its like power without luxury.

To erase the files you need to have the fastboot tool. There are two ways to get the fastboot tool:

  1. From compiled Android Open Source Project.
  2. From the platform-tools/ directory in the Android SDK. Make sure you have latest one.

Now you need to add this “platform-tools/ directory” into environment PATH variable. If you dont know this follow this. Make sure that you have setup USB debugging on.

Warning: doing following things will delete all user data. Be certain to first backup any personal data such as photos, messages, files.

Flash a system image:

  2. It would be hammerhead 5.0 (LRX21O) for Nexus 5
  3. Then unzip file (hammerhead-lrx21o-factory-01315e08.tgz) it to a directory. You can use winRAR for that
  4. Connect your device to your computer by USB.
  5. Start the device in fastboot mode with one of the following methods:
    1. Using the adb tool: With the device powered on, execute:
